Contact Lens Fitting

contacts

While seemingly simple, fitting and prescribing Contact Lenses is actually an art. Contact Lenses are medical devices whose prescriptions are based on the curvature of your cornea (the front surface of your eyes), the health of the inner lining of your eyelids (the palpebral conjunctiva), your natural tear film and your eyeglass prescription. By FDA regulation, an annual Contact Lens Fitting Exam is required to renew your contact lens prescription.

In our office, we fit both standard and specialty contact lenses depending on your needs. Standard contact lenses are worn to correct vision blur and are disposable. They are appropriate for myopia (near-sighted), hyperopia (far-sighted), presbyopia (bifocal), and astigmatism. We also fit colored and costume contact lenses in our office.
